Airedale Terrier Head Grooming

This is really a great video for learning how to groom your Airedale Terrier.

Airedales that are left alone especially when they are young seem to have more anxiety and are more destructive. Airedales people ae a funny lot too, we instantly love any other Airedales person we meet and will be friendly to people that know it is an Airedale and not a Goldendoodle.

Most Airedale Terriers can manage with less than an hour a day of exercise, that applies only to MOST. Some require a good deal more – and if they don’t get it out of doors, then they will manage to get it by running laps (and running roughshod) inside your home.  But as to grooming if you are in a hot climate then clipping OFTEN in the hot months is not merely a good idea. It is more of a way to keep your Airedale from getting heat stroke. Temperatures above 100 F are not all that unusual here in the summer. So depending on one’s location, more frequent grooming may be necessary.

Airedales have a strong personality, and a stubborn streak that runs from the tip of their nose to the tip of their tales.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Like many terriers, the breed has a ‘broken’ coat. The coat is hard and wiry. The coat is meant to be kept not so long as to appear ragged, and lies straight and close, covering body and legs. The outer coat is hard, wiry and stiff. Airedales may have an undercoat which is softer. The hardest coats are crinkling or just slightly waved. Curly soft coats are highly undesirable.Airedale’s coat is hypoallergenic, that is it tends not to generate allergic reaction in people.
