Viewer comment: Another thing you can use on your pets is honey – the kind you get from your local beekeeper, not the junk in stores. It is great for wound healing. When I was a young nurse, we had a morbidly obese lady whose abdominal wound kept eviscerating (pulling apart for those of you who don’t know). We applied honey to the open wound several times a day and it caused new tissue to form. My Maltipoo just had knee surgery and of course, she messed up her incision. So, I used honey on it, put her in one of those newborn onesies, and now it is completely healed. And the good thing is, if they lick it, it doesn’t hurt them. You can store honey indefinitely in your cabinet – it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. They actually discovered some in some Egyptian tombs that was still good
