I got today’s idea for a post from a comment by Ann, on my Facebook post yesterday showing the first puppy to open its eyes. She said ‘Your peace is over'” Personally, I think I have a little more time before real bedlam sets in.

You know what?  I’m looking forward to every minute of this experience. Sure, sleeping on the sofa to be next to them when Annie goes in for an evening feed, really breaks up my sleep cycle but I’m getting used to it now. As with any growing family I’m planning expansion of their play area and new little puppy bowls so they don’t crowd each other out when it’s time to eat semisolid food. Some years ago, I visited our breeder of the larger Airedales in California. Now, just a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in a position to visit an out-of-state breeder of these larger Airedale Terriers. I should say, that I’ve owned for Airedale terriers, and three of them were the normal AKC breed standard variety.

Then I was lucky enough to find out about the larger Airedale Terriers which are also known as mountain Airedales or Oorang Airedale Terriers. Black Airedale Terrier

The black Airedale Terrier

Quite a few local Airedale Terrier owners that I’ve talked to here in San Diego, didn’t seem to realize that there was an all black Airedale Terrier. But, the reality is that they have been around for quite some time. Although not recognized by the AKC, through registration into their system, the fact remains that they exist and have exactly the same characteristics as the standard black and tan Airedales.  Black Airedale Terrier *CORRECTION to video -The breeder has been breeding Airedales for 33 years!
