Already, at 11 weeks old, Teddy weighed in at 25 pounds! Usually, as Airedales get older, their growth rates goes down and most of the time they reach their full growth at a year to 18 months. Continue reading “California Airedale Puppy”
Annie spent 4 1/2 years with Oakley are 99 pound male Airedale Terrier. Oakley passed away in August at about 10 1/2 years old, and since then we’ve been a one dog family. But, as many of you already know we did breed Annie and she had nine puppies on January 2 of this year.
Teddy & Annie at 8 weeks old and 5 years old for Annie. Airedale Terrier puppies are real bundles of energy. They love to play, roughhouse and naturally get into mischief. At eight weeks old, their little teeth are like razors. Even though they’re just playing, you’re lucky to get a couple of days without getting a little puncture wound on your hand, your arm or your lower leg.
We tried to keep a lot of toys around for Teddy to keep them occupied and out of trouble. Well, perhaps I should say how to big trouble, because you can never keep an Airedale puppy completely out of trouble. It seems there’s always an article of clothing a pair of slippers or a newspaper that’s attacked by Teddy on a daily basis. I think the fact that he’s playing more and more with Annie these days, is keeping them out of real trouble. Continue reading “Airedale Terrier Puppy Play”
I think I’m going to need a larger bed for Teddy. Teddy is 9 weeks old and weighs just over 21Lbs.
Teddy – Large Airedale Terrier puppy
The bed is the one that was in Teddy’s kennel when he arrived just about two weeks ago. Two days after Teddy arrived we took him to the veterinarian for a general health exam. At the veterinarian’s office Teddy Wade in at 15.8 pounds. Continue reading “Large Airedale Puppy 9 Weeks Old”
This video shows the arrival of our new large Airedale Terrier puppy, Teddy! Our new large Airedale Terrier puppy arrived on Alaska airlines all the way from the St. Louis airport.
I do want to say, that if you’re planning on getting a puppy or just shipping your dog by air, always check to see that you can get a nonstop flight. When I was checking I found that the airlines use the terminology direct flight which can be mistaken for nonstop. But, all the direct flights that I checked always had a stop and I didn’t want to put my new little Airedale through any unnecessary travel annoyances. Continue reading “Large Airedale Puppy”
San Diego’s Cowles Mountain, Barker Way trail . . . just a few weeks ago.
Annie had nine puppies his January. Only two of her pups are in San Diego. One Airedale puppy, is in Chula Vista and another is in Oceanside. I’ll be doing a reunion video of Annie and her two puppies in a few months. Continue reading “Airedale Hike San Diego”
As some of you may already know our large Airedale Oakley, passed on just before his 11th birthday this past August. Annie and Oakley were the first time we ever had two Airedales. After Oakley went over the rainbow bridge I occasionally thought about getting another Airedale puppy.
A couple of months ago I had put a deposit down on an a male Airedale puppy that was just a few weeks old at the time. But, unfortunately the breeder became ill and their partner wanted to keep that male puppy. Both Judy and I were sad that this little puppy which we thought was coming to our home was now staying with the breeder.
About three weeks ago, I received information that there were three larger size Airedale puppies back in the Midwest that were available. After reviewing the breeders information and checking the AKC lineage, and naturally quite a few photos of the puppy, we decided to make the commitment and provide Annie with an adopted brother.
