California Airedale Puppy
Our last of six male California Airedale puppies (Barnaby) left yesterday for his new forever home in Oregon.
Barnaby’s new human family has two dogs at home and had an Airedale Terrier who went over the rainbow bridge just before Barnaby was born.

Below is a photo of our last two Airedale puppies, Barnaby and his sister, Mabel, just before Barnaby said goodby.
Mabel was very sad to see her brother Barnaby leave. Even though we gave Mabel more attention and took her out in the backyard a couple of times she still cried when she was by herself in the pen.
What we did was rearrange the playpen from one large playpen into two. One of the pens we kept in the living room and the other one we moved back into my office near the master bedroom. We did this so we could be closer to Mabel throughout the day.
When Mabel was out in the backyard, with her mom, Annie, she was very happy but once we put her back in the playpen for dinner, she didn’t eat that much, and was whiny.
I know it must be very tough for her now being the only puppy still with us. I mean, she started out playing with her eight other siblings and then slowly this last week, saw all the others leave for their forever homes. But, Mabel and Barnaby still seemed quite happy playing with each other and romping around in the pan and the backyard.
Naturally, after having experienced a large family with lots of siblings to play with, it’s hard to move on, on her own. But, at least Annie, Judi & myself are here to make this big transition as easy as possible.
He is swift, formidable, graceful, big of brain, an ideal chum and guard. ….To his master he is an adoring pal. To marauders he is a destructive lightning bolt.”
