Airedale Puppy Feeding — Annie our 4.5Yr. old Airedale Terrier feeding one of her nine puppies. This just days old Airedale puppy was the first to get over to Annie after she entered the whelping pen. The other eight Airedale puppies are on their way over to Annie, but, just out of the photo frame.
All nine AKC Airedale puppies were born on January 2, 2019, starting around 3:00PM and going to almost midnight.
Airedale Puppy Feeding
The main difference between puppy food and adult food is the amount of protein in the food. It is important that Airedale Terrier puppies are given enough protein to facilitate proper grown. Personally, I would feed my Airedale puppy high quality, specific dry puppy food, for at least one year. I usually mix in one quarter of a can of meat stew (usually beef, chicken, turkey and or a combination which include some fish) in with their normal dry puppy food.
Your Airedale Terrier may also be fond of cooked eggs, fruits and vegetables, and cottage cheese, but these foods should be less than 10 percent of their daily nutrition.
Into each bowl of the dry puppy food. I feed my Airedale Terrier, twice a day, morning and evening. Another thing to keep in mind, is that Airedale’s consume a lot of water. So, be sure that you provide clean water each day for your Airedale puppy. I actually have two water dishes one in the kitchen and another in the bedroom where my Airedale sleeps. The water in each one of these balls is changed every day.
While we’re talking about water, I always do strongly advise when hiking with your dog, try to go later in the day, or in the shade when things are cooler. The not walk your dog in the hottest part of the day and always carry water for the dogs to drink on the trail
Another important point in Airedale puppy feeding:
Do not exercise your Airedale Terrier right after eating. I recommend feeding the dogs in their kennel and allow them to digest their for at least 20 minutes after they’ve finished. This is important an Airedale Terrier can get bloat and twisted stomach which can be disastrous.
