Annie ad nine Airedale Terrier puppies on January 2, 2019. This picture was taken when the puppies were eight weeks old, and these are the last that were remaining to go to their new forever homes.
You can see any looking over my shoulder and watching her little puppies .
Judi & I interacted with the puppies multiple times per day.
Just to be on the safe side, until they got there first vaccinations at six weeks it was just Judy and I our son and his girlfriend ( after sanitizing their close shoes and hands ) who interacted with the puppies . After their first shot, we still sanitized visitors who wanted to come by and also at this time was the first time that we took them out into our backyard. Annie spent 4 1/2 years with Oakley are 99 pound male Airedale Terrier. Oakley passed away in August at about 10 1/2 years old, and since then we’ve been a one dog family. But, as many of you already know we did breed Annie and she had nine puppies on January 2 of this year.
As some of you may already know our large Airedale Oakley, passed on just before his 11th birthday this past August. Annie and Oakley were the first time we ever had two Airedales. After Oakley went over the rainbow bridge I occasionally thought about getting another Airedale puppy.
A couple of months ago I had put a deposit down on an a male Airedale puppy that was just a few weeks old at the time. But, unfortunately the breeder became ill and their partner wanted to keep that male puppy. Both Judy and I were sad that this little puppy which we thought was coming to our home was now staying with the breeder.
About three weeks ago, I received information that there were three larger size Airedale puppies back in the Midwest that were available. After reviewing the breeders information and checking the AKC lineage, and naturally quite a few photos of the puppy, we decided to make the commitment and provide Annie with an adopted brother. 9 week old Airedale Terrier puppy leaves for Montana
Judi and I say goodby to Mabel, the first of our female Airedale puppies to be selected and the last of Annie’s nine puppies to leave our care.
When Mabel’s brother Barnaby left and she was all alone (naturally Annie was still here), you could tell right away that she was sad. After all, she had eight other siblings to play with, and then before she knew it, it was just her and her brother. Continue reading “9 week old Airedale Terrier puppy”
Today was a big day in Airedale puppy land San Diego. Both people who had first selection of the puppies for the males and the females showed up to select their beautiful Airedale puppies. Once this was done we could go through the list of all the other new owners choices for puppies and match them up. Then we sent out notifications to all telling them which color collar puppy was going to be there new family member. Continue reading “Airedale Puppy Poem”
