California Airedale Terrier Sunrise Hike

17 years I’ve be hiking up this (Cowles Mtn.) mountain with Airedales. We have taken in many great sunsets over the Pacific, but until  December 12th., we never did a sunrise hike. This is our larger Airedale Terrier sunrise hike on Cowles Mountain in San Diego California.

These larger Airedales are also known as Mountain Airedales because of their size. But, they certainly look forward to and enjoy all our mountain hikes. Continue reading “California Airedale Terrier Sunrise Hike”

What to feed your Airedale Terrier

What to feed your Airedale Terrier

Here I’m talking about Airedale Terriers, but, believe my opinions on proper feeding your dog, can apply to most other dog breeds.

With recent headlines like:

It may well pay to home-cook for your Airedale. Why not try to insure your Airedales health, happiness, and longevity? Continue reading “What to feed your Airedale Terrier”

Mountain Airedale Terriers

Mountain Airedale Terriers

Living with Mountain Airedale Terriers – – – In this video which I did a few years ago, you can see our big boy Oakley (99 Lbs., he lived too short a life, & left us just before he was 11yrs old) and Annie, when she was a puppy. Yes, having be lucky enough to have owned both the standard size Airedale & the larger Oorang or Mountain Airedale, my personal opinion is, except for size, the larger Airedales have exactly the same intelligent, fun-loving, carefree personality as the standard size Airedales.
For expressing my opinion on the larger/ Mountain Airedales, I’ve been banished from one Facebook group and always seem to rile up the hard-core, breed standard Airedale terrier folks.

Larger Airedale Terriers 360° Video Hike

Larger Airedale Terriers 360°

My two larger Airedales Annie and Teddy at the San Diego river where it goes through Mission Trails Regional Park.

Mission Trails Regional Park is about 5,700 acres and the largest regional park west of the Mississippi.

The river is not very wide here and in the summer, there is usually no water. This video was taken just after our Thanksgiving large rain storm and so there was quite a lot of water in the river and it was flowing quite fast. Continue reading “Larger Airedale Terriers 360° Video Hike”

Many consider the larger Airedale Terrier the ideal dog. These larger Airedales are known as Oorang Airedales, Mountain Airedales and just larger Airedale Terriers.

The best of these larger Airedales are AKC registered, but, because they exceed the currently recognized Airedale Terrier breed standards, they cannot be entered into any AKC sanctioned events. Continue reading “Large Airedale Terrier Popularity”

Army Dog

Army Dog

A reunion three years in the making for Army Specialist Vance McFarland. Thanks to help from Mission K9 Rescue, McFarland and his former Tactical Explosive Detection Dog were reunited for good.

When these soldiers retire they should have the option to keep their dogs with no charge at all.

We pay for welfare for people that don’t deserve it, let’s pay for something good for once! Continue reading “Army Dog”
