Judi and I say goodby to Mabel, the first of our female Airedale puppies to be selected and the last of Annie’s nine puppies to leave our care.
When Mabel’s brother Barnaby left and she was all alone (naturally Annie was still here), you could tell right away that she was sad. Our 4 1/2-year-old female Airedale Terrier had her first litter of puppies on January 2. She had nine puppies, six boys and three girls.
When they were going on their seventh week new forever parents came by to select their new family members. Naturally, it was hard to see these guys go, but also good to see the smiles and joy of the people who are going to be providing them there forever homes. Later today our Mr. Blue, now, Barnaby, will be leaving for his new forever home in Gresham Oregon.
When Barnaby leaves, we will only have his sister Mabel for about a week. It is sure getting quiet around here!
He is swift, formidable, graceful, big of brain, an ideal chum and guard. ….To his master he is an adoring pal. To marauders he is a destructive lightning bolt.”

This video was shot yesterday, and as you’ll see, where down to four Airedale puppies. All the puppies just love to get out in the backyard and run. They have a great time, but they do get tired pretty quick. Then it’s back in the house for a drink of water and a little nap.

Yesterday our 8 wk old male Airedale Terrier puppy, Mr. Tanner (now Ace) met his forever human companion and said goodbye to his Mom, 3 brothers & 3 sisters as he left home for Yuma, Arizona. Annie, our 4 1/2 year old AKC registered Airedale Terrier had her first litter of puppies in January. This video shows Annie letting her first three puppies nurse on the day of birth.
Actually, the entire Airedale birthing process took approximately eight hours. Except for two puppies that were enclosed in the same sack and burst at the same time, each puppy was born individually.
