I really don’t get what’s so special about this… Why Belgium judges like stuff that’s really bad or too stupid for a got talent show while there often are really talented people that don’t make it because of a cute kid that ‘dances’ or a dog that ‘sings. But, with that said . . . I do love dogs!

Schoep the dog, who gained national attention after a photo of him and his owner, John Unger, went viral. Schoep was 20 years old and was a lovable shepherd mix, who lost his sight to cataracts and struggled with arthritis and hip problems.
The world first met Schoep after he and John were captured floating in Lake Superior. Unger said it was an attempt to find joint pain relief for his beloved four-legged friend.
So sad. It’s hard having a pet pass away, especially a dog that you have had for many years and or raised from a puppy. I want to be there when my dogs pass.

Studies using an operant framework have indicated that humans can influence the behavior of dogs through food, petting and voice. Food and 20–30 seconds of petting maintained operant responding in dogs. Some dogs will show a preference for petting once food is readily available, and dogs will remain in close proximity to a person providing petting and show no satiation to that stimulus. Petting alone was sufficient to maintain the operant response of military dogs to voice commands, and responses to basic obedience commands in all dogs increased when only vocal praise was provided for correct responses. Our 7 year old Oorang Airedale watching our eigh week old Oorang Airedale puppy.
A healthy Airedale Terrier can live as long as 12 years. These dogs are generally healthy, but some can develop hip dysplasia and skin problems. Their short, dense coats need regular grooming to look like a trademark Airedale. Also, since these dogs love to romp and splash outdoors, they may need to be clipped and bathed fairly often.
