Spay Neuter Warning
Questions are being raised as to automatically believing that spaying and neutering your dog where is the best for your pet and society.
I’m not saying not to do the procedure, what I’m saying is to get informed of both the positive and negative effects before making your decision.
Spay Neuter Warning
Sure, this is a hot topic, but I believe if you have an in-house pet, an escape proof backyard, or a pedigree dog, just automatically going with the narrative that you must spay or neuter your pet, may just be endangering your pet and doing absolutely nothing to decrease unwanted puppies.
Here are the potential negatives involved in spaying or neutering your dog:
- Surgical Risks: Any surgery carries a risk of complications, such as infection or bleeding.
- Increased Risk of Certain Health Conditions: Studies have shown that spayed and neutered dogs may have a slightly higher risk of developing certain types of cancer and joint disorders later in life. ·
- Hormonal Changes: Removing the reproductive organs can lead to hormonal changes that may affect your dog’s behavior or metabolism. Some dogs may experience weight gain or changes in activity levels.·
- Increased Risk of Anesthesia Complications: While rare, anesthesia can pose risks, especially for older or unhealthy dogs.
