Teddy our 13 week old Oorang Airedale Terrier and Annie ( 5yr old Airedale) visit Lake Murray here in San Diego.
Lake Murray is a reservoir in San Diego, California, operated by the City of San Diego’s Public Utilities Department. It is located within Mission Trails Regional Park.

Lake Murray Reservoir is located within the boundary of Mission Trails Regional Park, which lies between the city of San Diego and the neighboring communities of La Mesa and Santee. The lake is open for shore fishing and private boats (when water level allows) seven days a week.
When full, the reservoir has 171.1 surface acres, a maximum water depth of 95 feet and 3.2 shoreline miles. Murray Reservoir has a water storage capacity of 4,684.2-acre feet.
This lake is very popular for bicycling, jogging, walking, rollerblading, and picnicking. Patrons can walk only as far as the dam gate (approximately 3.2 miles) and then must return. When full, the reservoir has 171.1 surface acres, a maximum water depth of 95 feet, and 3.2 shoreline miles. Water levels are monitored weekly.
There is a great paved (always check pavement temperature in Summer months to protect your dog’s foot pads) almost all around the lake. Usually best to walk for dog early or late in the day.
